THE DACUM MODEL

The CVA offers training and certification programs on the DACUM (Developing A CurriculuM) methodology, a competency-based learning and training model. Created in Canada, the DACUM model is now being used on all continents in the technical and vocational education sector as well as by business and industry. Since the program was initiated in 1993, more than 1000 individuals across Canada and in several other countries have attended the CVA’s DACUM Training workshops.

This model has three major components:

  • Occupational / job analysis
  • Program Development
  • Program Implementation

This model facilitates the development of competency-based training.
